Priory Farms is located on 75 acres of rolling hills just south of Eau Claire. In 2017, Beth and Slavko added 40 acres of old pastures from the farm next to their rural home and were looking for a sheep that could handle the Wisconsin weather, old pastures, and very novice shepherds. They bought their first few Cotswold sheep in 2018 and have fallen in love with these gentle giants. Their Cotswold flock has been doing a great job transforming the old pastures in an environmentally friendly, pasture based way. Pasture management practices include rotational grazing during the summer months, bale grazing during the winter, frost seeding and interseeding pastures. These practices have helped to improve the organic matter in the soil, diversity of plantings in the pasture, and a decreased need for anti-parasitic medications in the flock. Lambing occurs in April or May.

Beth loves working with Cotswold wool. Spinning, weaving, felting and growing natural dyes has become a passion over the past few years. Cotswold wool is a wonderful product to use in so many capacities and a Cotswold sheep is the perfect addition to any fiber flock.

Priory Farms is a member of the Three Rivers Fibershed, the Livestock Conservancy and the Wisconsin Farmers Union. Beth is also a member of ACRA board and looks forward to meeting all of the members and learning about their flocks.
